Our Chapter

Sigma Gamma Rho Affiliates

Operating under the guidance of local alumnae chapters, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. maintains three official affiliate groups dedicated to empowering women and youth through leadership development, mentorship, education, and community service. Together, these affiliates extend the sorority’s mission and strengthen its impact within the communities we serve.

Philo Affiliates

Philo Affiliates

The Philo Affiliate is an official auxiliary organization of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., composed of women who are not members of the sorority but who share its commitment to service, leadership, and community engagement. The name Philo, meaning “Friend,” reflects the enduring partnership between these dedicated women and the sorority.

For decades, Philos have played an important role in advancing the mission of Sigma Gamma Rho through volunteer service, community outreach, fundraising, and support of sorority programs. Organized nationally in 1980, the Philo Affiliate continues to unite women who are committed to promoting the sorority’s ideals and making a positive impact in their communities.

The Eta Iota Sigma Philo Club was chartered on November 3, 1990, alongside the Eta Iota Sigma Alumnae Chapter. Since its inception, the club has been an invaluable partner in supporting the chapter’s programs, initiatives, and community service efforts. Through their dedication and countless hours of service, the Philos have helped strengthen the chapter’s ability to fulfill its commitment to Greater Service, Greater Progress.

Rhoer Club

Rhoer Club

Established in 1939, the Rhoer Club is Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.’s youth affiliate for young women ages 12 to 18. Inspired by the vision of Founder Mary Lou Allison Gardner Little and the sorority’s longstanding commitment to youth development, the Rhoer Club provides opportunities for young women to grow academically, socially, and personally through mentorship, leadership development, community service, and educational enrichment.

Through local, regional, and national activities, Rhoers develop confidence, strengthen leadership skills, learn the value of service, and build meaningful relationships while preparing to become women of substance and positive contributors to their communities.

The Eta Iota Sigma Rhoer Club continues this legacy by engaging young women in impactful programs that promote scholarship, leadership, sisterhood, and service.

Rhosebud Club

Rhosebud Club

The Rhosebud Club is Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.’s youth affiliate for young girls ages 8 to 11. Designed with care and intentional guidance, the Rhosebud Club introduces young girls to the values of scholarship, service, and leadership through age-appropriate programming that nurtures personal growth, character development, and community awareness.

Rooted in the sorority’s commitment to cultivating future leaders, the Rhosebud Club provides a supportive environment where girls are encouraged to build confidence, develop positive habits, and grow into well-rounded young women who contribute meaningfully to their communities.

The Eta Iota Sigma Rhosebud Club continues this tradition by offering engaging activities that support education, service, and early leadership development.
